The Jackson’s Art Prize 2025 UPDATE
No cigar!
Hello art lovers. As many of you know, earlier this year I submitted my work to the Jackson’s Art Prize 2025—a competition that consistently showcases an inspiring breadth of artistic voices from around the world.
I recently received the news that I didn’t made it through to this year’s Shortlist.
Of course, it’s disappointing. Any time you pour your time, energy and creative heart into something, it’s natural to hope for recognition. But I also know this is part of the journey. Rejections like this one are not the opposite of progress—they’re a part of it!
What has been meaningful is the process itself: taking the time to reflect on my practice, selecting work that feels most honest to me, and sharing it with a wider audience. The response and support on the socials community is a reminder of why I do this.
I’m still incredibly proud of the piece I submitted, and I look forward to sharing more about it in the coming weeks. More importantly, I’m excited to keep making, experimenting, failing, growing—and making again.
To everyone who made it to the next round: congratulations. And to everyone creating quietly without fanfare or awards: keep going. The work matters.
Thank you for being here.
