The Journey So Far

When I first submitted my work, I was really just looking to challenge myself and see what happened. It was a shot in the dark, a leap of faith if you will, and I didn't think much of the outcome. It's funny how life works, isn't it? One minute you think you're just another artist among so many, and then the next, you find yourself on this exciting rollercoaster. This recognition is a huge milestone in my artistic journey. The Jackson's Art Prize is one of the most prestigious competitions in the art world, celebrating outstanding talent from across the globe. To be acknowledged among so many incredible artists is both humbling and exhilarating. I never expected to get this far, and now there's even more to anticipate!

What’s Next?

This coming Friday, the next round is set to be announced, and I am filled with excitement (and a little bit of nerves)! What will it bring? I have friends who are also participating and we’ll be anxiously awaiting the news together. I can’t help but think – what if this is the start of an amazing new adventure? Whether it's a yes or a no, just being part of this competition has reignited my passion for creating art and sharing it with the world.

If you’re as curious as I am about the rest of the competition, stay tuned for updates! Here I share a sneak peek of my piece (Harley Davidson) along with all of the other entrants through to the next level. Here's to hoping I continue on this path, and if I do, I promise to take you all along with me!

Thanks for sharing in my joy, and let’s keep our fingers crossed for more good news this Friday!

Stay tuned for more updates, and as always, keep creating!

Surprise, Surprise!

Hey there, art lovers! I have some exhilarating news to share with you.

I entered The Jackson's Art Prize 2025 back at the end of 2024. Now celebrating its tenth year, Jackson’s internationally renowned art prize recognises the work of hundreds of fine artists year after year. Artists working in painting, drawing, and printmaking, of all ages and abilities are encouraged to enter. Well, I totally forgot about it until last Friday when I got a surprise email that left me jumping out of my seat! Turns out, I've made it into the top 25% for the extended long list. That's 3,168 works from a total of 12,964 submissions, from 129 countries. Can you believe it?
